Club Rules

Definition of terms;

CLUB shall mean "The Devon & Somerset Condors Hang Gliding & Paragliding Club"

BHPA shall mean "The British Hang Gliding & Paragliding Association"

​All members:-

  • agree to comply with the CLUB rules.

  • agree to comply with UK Air Law & The Air Navigation Order

  • must be members of the BHPA, and agree to keep their  BHPA membership current during  their membership of the CLUB and shall abide by the CLUB and BHPA rules so as to be covered by BHPA 3rd party insurance.

  • agree to comply with land owners site rules

  • acknowledge that if they knowingly breach land owners, CLUB or BHPA rules their CLUB membership may be terminated and any subsequent renewal will be at the discretion of the Committee

  • acknowledge that hang gliding and paragliding are adventure sports that contain an element of risk that may result in serious injury or death.

  • understand that in the event of any accident or incident which occurs during a club activity or on a club flying site, directly or indirectly caused by their actions (even when acting on advice given by others), no claim may be made by them, their estate or on their behalf against the CLUB, its Officers, Coaches or Members, or against any Landowner and/or Site Operator. Furthermore all members understand that they may be held liable by an injured party for any damage or loss, resulting from any accident or incident directly or indirectly caused by their actions (even when acting on advice given by others).

  • agree to the CLUB holding membership details on a computerised database.

  • agree to these details being provided to the BHPA, on a periodic basis, to ensure that BHPA membership is being maintained

  • agree to be polite and respect the views of others on the CLUBs Telegram and other social media groups. Any swearing, discriminatory speech or other behaviour, deemed to be unreasonable by the committee, will be removed and the member responsible may be deleted from the group. CLUB membership bestows no right to inclusion in any of the CLUBs Telegram or other social media groups

  • agree to use their full name and a recognisable facial photo as the primary image on their Telegram profile. Failure to do so may result in removal from all the CLUBs Telegram groups
